Nadsat Boy - Kenth Toy Works

Back when I started this blog, in my first post I shared three items. Thanks to my obsessive eBay hunting, I have finally obtained the last thing from that list! The OG Nadsat Boy by Kenth Toy Works!
Fives years of hunting paid off!

I was browsing eBay a couple of months ago & there it was! Scored this epic piece of vinyl for only $60 USD(not including shipping :P), which is cheaper then they were when they were released! I was completely poor when I found it, so a close friend of mine helped me buy it(he also recently helped me order another toy... but that's a story for another time) & now it's mine!

The seller claimed this was 'new in bag', but there's some discolouration to the walking stick that suggests otherwise. Honestly I'm not complaining, for the price I acquired this, a little discolouration isn't the end of the world. I also think the walking stick isn't sofubi, which might be a factor(PVC perhaps)... so if anyone else owns this toy & has had a similar problem with discolouration, I'd love to hear about it!

At 8 inches tall, this is a rather impressive addition to my shelves. The design is amazing. A simple pose, but the style of the piece lends a level of aggression to the toy. It's a wonderful homage to it's cinematic influence & a very welcome inclusion in my cabinet!

This leaves me craving a handful of other Kenth Toy Works 'A Clockwork Orange' inspired toys that I've missed in recent years, But much like I eventually found this, I hope to find those one day as well!

Metal Lunch Box - Aquarius

A quick follow-up from my last blog post(Puzzle/Playing Cards/Tin Signs - Aquarius). I acquired myself the metal lunch tin by Aquarius! I wanted one badly, so I pop on ebay & found myself a reasonable price($24.44 AUD & free shipping!).

Perhaps not the greatest A Clockwork Orange item ever, but I love it! It's only the 2nd lunch tin my life(the other being a Hellraiser tin) & it's one I had hoped would be made one day!
As you can see, I wasn't able to fit this in my main A Clockwork Orange cabinet... I really need to update my furniture!

Now I just need to hunt down the mugs, sticker & magnets Aquarius have produced & I'll be satisfied(I've yet to find a reasonable price for the mugs)! Well, until the next company that acquires the rights to ACO & starts producing more stuff!

BIG Catch-Up!

Well, as you may have noticed, I've been a bit useless with my blogging lately. It's nothing new, I'm lazy. There's even a chance I pre-warned you all in previous entries about this bad habit of mine! I've decided it's finally time to catch-up & show you all my recent acquisitions, so bare with me!

First & foremost, the toy that took me longer to acquire then anything else EVER, the Crockman Hommage Statue.
I first stumbled across this epic piece of resin about 2.5years ago. In that time period, nothing went right. The original website that stocked them, didn't ship to Aus, so I found another site, but they had run out of stock. That's around the time I gave up on the idea, but then a friend suggested M-World Service. They found my toy within a matter of hours! Cost me a little extra, but it was worth every penny!
By far one of my all time favourite ACO acquisitions, though tragically I don't have the space to display it at the moment. Hopefully, I'll have a new cabinet soon to put him in.

There I was, doing my daily eBay search for ACO items & I stumbled across a mobile phone cover. Pretty retro, absolutely obsolete these days, but as I had no intention of opening the packaging, it was destined to become part of my collection! Was also useful to know Lucastar had a eBay store! While I was at it, I ordered a 2nd ACO phone charm(I may potentially do a contest in the future & toss that in!). The phone cover is by a brand called Lex Lutor, who don't seem to exist anymore. Tragically I'm pretty sure I also ordered the last one Lucastar had in stock(so you're all out of luck!). Nice bit of randomness to add to my stuff though.

As always, Frank Kozik has continued to produce items that I simply MUST have in my collection. I blogged about his mini busts a few months ago(Mini Orange Clear Resin Lugwig Van Busts), he then released another, the 'Milk Plus' version. Of course I needed it, so I got my money together & thankfully was able to acquire one.

When I first started this blog(The Woes Of Collecting or 'Why I Created This Blog' ), I was driven to do so because I had learned about some recent releases, which I had missed the opportunity to buy. Specifically, a toy called 'Nadsat Boy' by Kenth. I'm still seeking that piece of vinyl awesomeness, however Kenth recently released another ACO inspired toy. This time, in resin.
There was a lottery for this toy, I feel incredibly lucky to have won the opportunity to purchase one. It's tiny & delicate & articulated(even it's head swivels!)!

James Flames - You Are Invited

James Flames does epic work & I'm so glad to finally have this poster up(it had been sitting in a tube for over a year). The photo looks a little weird, as it's hanging on an angled wall(nice use of space I thought!). Took two tries to get it to stay up, but I got there in the end!

Dolicia

Picked this up on etsy(again, at least a year ago). It's an original by a woman called 'Dolicia'. Tragically, I can't find any additional info about her & her etsy store seems to be gone now. The moment I saw this painting I wanted it & Dolicia was kind enough to hold it for me. I'm incredibly happy to finally have it on my walls(the other painting is a gilcee print from R.S.Connett for anyone wondering).

Wellbound Productions- Tim Allen - Clockwork Ted

I recently went to the Brisbane Alternative Expo(b'day outing with my Dad) & the very first thing I found, was a ACO item. The guys from Wellbound Productions do awesome work, but of course, I went with Clockwork Ted. A beautifully messy, yet effective piece of art. I got to have a chat with the guys & Tim Allen signed the print for me. I'm very much looking forward to the next Expo(and hopefully one or two conventions this year too!). A great little b'day bonus for myself & thankfully, I happened to have a frame kicking around that fit it.

For now, that's it on the art front. I have a few other pieces kicking around in tubes(even have a new piece on it's way), but I'm all out of frames/mylar sleeves/ or any other 'hanging' solutions that will fit my remaining pieces. I'm working on the problem.

To finish up, here's some updated shots of my cabinet. There's a handful of things missing, as I currently can't fit them in(nice to have my stuff back from the museum, but problematic thanks to buying so much new stuff last year). I'm pretty happy with how much I've managed to squeeze in there though!

There's a couple of other things I thought about sharing, but I have counterparts for them arriving soon, so I shall share the rest in future blog entries. For now, be jealous of all my new epicness!

Shorts & Cinema

So, my trip to see ACO at Event Cinemas was fantastic. The quality of the image was beautiful, quality of sound was fantastic too(though we could tragically hear explosions from another movie playing in an adjacent cinema). It was completely worth the $10 to see. Personally, I'd love to see Event Cinemas show some other Kubrick films. In particular, I'd LOVE to see 2001: A Space Odyssey on the big-screen. Only time will tell what films they'll bring us in the future though.

I also acquired, what are probably the coolest shorts ever, recently. They're by a brand called Arancia Meccanica(can we guess what they focus on?), a seriously fantastic brand, hope to acquire more of their products in the future. I bought them from a seller called 'Marys Clothing' on eBay.

The fact their board-shorts might persuade me to actually go swimming this summer too, that's always a plus. Though even if I don't, I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing these religiously. I also love the colours(though these shorts are available in at least one other colour combination that I could find), can't go wrong with black, white & purple.
While I'm writing, I'd like to apologise for the lack of new posts lately. There's only so much stuff I can buy & stuff worth writing about. I have got two blog posts I'm working on, one is quite depressing & I keep putting it off, the other has been delayed due to a product arriving damaged. I have however, found some new items recently, hopefully I'll have myself a little ACO shopping binge in the near future & give you all something new to read!

Keanan Duffty Limited Edition T-Shirt

I haven't been buying much ACO stuff lately. Mostly because I'm a bit poor lately, but I've also been buying other toys(check out my Stuff & Things blog). However, I made an exception for this Keanan Duffty shirt when I stumbled across it on eBay recently.

I enjoy indulging in designer clothing now & then, I also love limited edition items. So this shirt was right up my alley. I don't buy ACO clothing as much as I use to(I have 5 or 6 ACO shirts amongst my mass collection of clothing), but I've found a couple of items recently that I just HAD to add to my collection. In fact, you can expect at least one more upcoming clothing post in the near future!
I bought this shirt though, not because of the limited number, or the designer aspect, but simply because I love the design. It's a really wonderful screen-print & done by hand.

I'm seriously considering wearing this shirt on Friday, when I go to see ACO at Event cinema. It's a little more subtle then my ACO jacket I think & one doesn't want to be too 'uber geek'.
AN additional note. I spent hours attempting to hunt for a toy I saw in a photo yesterday. I had no luck, but did find a couple of other ACO items I had been aware of. So hopefully there will be a few more regular posts from me in the next few weeks(assuming I acquire the money to buy these items anytime soon).

A Clockwork Golly

I've been an avid badge collector for years, though my acquisitions of new ones is rare these days. I stumbled across one on eBay during one of my many browsing sessions, that I simply couldn't resist.
My mother use to occasionally acquire herself a golly badge from Robertsons & I always thought they were quite adorable. The moment I saw this one, I just had to own it.

The badge is a custom design by Sticky Wotsits on eBay(a tribute to the golly badges available in the past). It's a beautifully executed design. These photos don't do the details justice.

I only own a handful of enamel badges, a majority of them are on my custom ACO jacket. All of my ACO enamel badges are from eBay(there's a couple of others I hope to gain in the future). The boots badge was just a spontaneous addition & not specifically ACO inspired, though I think it's a nice touch on my jacket.
The jacket was designed by me & I had it sew by a seller on etsy(suspect999, tragically her store no longer exists). It's one of my few 'unique' items & something I'm quite proud of.

These of course, are not the only ACO clothing/accessories I own, but definitely some of my favourites.

As always, I apologise for the delay with a new post. Just seems I'm a bit distracted lately.

The Old Ultraviolence or 'Why I Love eBay'

To begin, apologies for not blogging yet this week. I've been trying to fix my sleep-pattern, it's resulted in a lack of motivation for the last few days. As a result, my blog(& other endeavors) have suffered. I have been slowly working on a post or two, but today is the first day of a new postage week & I got mail! I kept this 'find' secret, mostly because I didn't want more people I had to bid against. I have managed to find & acquire, one of the very first things I blogged about, the Yosiell Lorenzo 'The Old Ultraviolence' wood print.

When I first learned of the existence of this piece, I was sure I'd never own one. A limited run of only 40, the likelihood of someone selling one, seemed almost impossible. Thankfully, due to my obsessive eBay browsing, I found one.

I had to outbid another person to win it(paid a little more then I'd hoped), but it was totally worth it. The plaque is 9x12inches, quite large. It's number 11/40.

Signed & Numbered

I currently have no where to display it. I bought a plate stand for it, it doesn't fit & I have no appropriate wall hooks. The never ending bane of my existence, my inability to display my items nicely. So I now plan to buy a cabinet from Ikea, something simple, but with a LOT of space. I suppose I'll also need to acquire a larger plate stand(there's a fun task).
