Clockwork Pino - Fools Paradise

What do you do when a amazing toy is available for pre-order & you're poor as fuck? Ask a friend! And that's exactly what I did to achieve the acquisition of this beast of a toy!
I've always found the toys Fools Paradise produce truly beautiful. Amazingly impressive pieces, in size & quality. When I learned they were releasing a A Clockwork Orange toy, I'd say my first reaction was desperation! I HAD to have this toy!

The same friend who helped me buy my Nadsat Boy last year, was glad to help me order my Pino! Then it was just a short 8 month wait to receive my toy...

Pre-ordered back in August, it finally arrived this week! This toy is truly remarkable! I'm pretty sure it's the largest toy I own! So massive in fact, that I had to start a new A Clockwork Orange shelf to fit it amongst my collection! It did give me a good excuse to dust however...

Approximately 30cm tall, made from vinyl & PVC. Originally $298 USD & limited to 498 pieces worldwide. The wrists are articulated, which made it reasonably easy to slide the walking stick between it's hands.
The juxtaposition of Disney & Kubrick amuses me greatly. As my sister phrased it "It's disturbing... so cutesy", which sums it up nicely I think. Though I'm sure we can all agree that Jiminy was always dressed in 'the height of fashion', just waiting to tolchock someone with that umbrella of his!

It occurs to me I should have done a unboxing video(not that I'm entirely sure how to do that). The packaging truly is impressive! But I've stashed it away & I'm too lazy to pull it back out again! But we're not here for the box anyway, we're here for the toy, which is truly one of the most beautiful things on my shelves! Alex said it best:

Nadsat Boy - Kenth Toy Works

Back when I started this blog, in my first post I shared three items. Thanks to my obsessive eBay hunting, I have finally obtained the last thing from that list! The OG Nadsat Boy by Kenth Toy Works!
Fives years of hunting paid off!

I was browsing eBay a couple of months ago & there it was! Scored this epic piece of vinyl for only $60 USD(not including shipping :P), which is cheaper then they were when they were released! I was completely poor when I found it, so a close friend of mine helped me buy it(he also recently helped me order another toy... but that's a story for another time) & now it's mine!

The seller claimed this was 'new in bag', but there's some discolouration to the walking stick that suggests otherwise. Honestly I'm not complaining, for the price I acquired this, a little discolouration isn't the end of the world. I also think the walking stick isn't sofubi, which might be a factor(PVC perhaps)... so if anyone else owns this toy & has had a similar problem with discolouration, I'd love to hear about it!

At 8 inches tall, this is a rather impressive addition to my shelves. The design is amazing. A simple pose, but the style of the piece lends a level of aggression to the toy. It's a wonderful homage to it's cinematic influence & a very welcome inclusion in my cabinet!

This leaves me craving a handful of other Kenth Toy Works 'A Clockwork Orange' inspired toys that I've missed in recent years, But much like I eventually found this, I hope to find those one day as well!

Alex DeLarge - Vinyl Idolz

This will be a short blog(just another 'catch-up' post). I've been after one of these since Evil Corp originally shared a image of the design. I was so excited when they started producing toys! Thankfully they've chosen to produce some amazing characters so far & Alex is amongst them!

Last year I went to the Brisbane Supanova. I bought many things. Australia lacks variety in toys, mostly Funko & Kidrobot, but sometimes that's ok! I managed to get a little something to cover most of the realms of pop culture I indulge in!

The pinnacle item of course, was my Alex DeLarge Vinyl Idolz figure! I bought it from Popcultcha(their con booths are EPIC!). I LOVE this toy! I love the sculpt design, the smooth lines, even the paint work is quite impressive(for a Funko release).
I love that Evil Corp decided on a simple, symmetrical pose. It brings a nice contrast to the aspects of Alex's outfit that are asymmetrical.

I highly recommend the Funko Vinyl Idolz figures! Evil Corp designs are some truly aesthetically pleasing stuff!

Popcultcha no longer have the Alex DeLarge Vinyl Idolz in stock, but they do have multiple other ACO items currently available! I recommend checking out their catalogue, even international shipping tends to be quite reasonable!

A Clockwork Orange Customs - Bash Projects(Bas Petter)

The last edition & the biggest, in a rather large order from Bash Projects. This was a long-term purchase(for lack of a better phrase), but it's totally been worth the wait!
Amongst the many toys contained in this recent package, I present a Bash Projects customisation of the epic 'William & Henry' by Frank Kozik.

My first A Clockwork Orange additions of the year! Also my largest ACO customs to date! I knew they were big, but honestly, holding them in my hands makes me wonder where on earth I'm going to put these! Some serious reorganisation lays ahead of me!

I really love all the little details on these. The rhinos tiny hat, the blood splatter on it's horn, but it's the unique take on the eyelashes that really grips my attention on this piece!

I think this is my first custom with a little droog-minion, also my first custom with a mask! Honestly, one can't go wrong with an elephant & an elephant in a mask, that's just too darn cute! I also think his little shorts/cod-piece combo are ridiculously adorable!

It's nice to have such a sizeable addition to my collection. I'm looking forward to creating space to display these two(& the rest of this mammoth lot of toys!).

New Art & Another Toy I'll Never Own

I received a new piece of art in the post a couple of days ago, a sketch card by Fred Hembeck. A great artist, hilarious work. I was surprised when I found he was selling art on eBay, but ecstatic when I realised he'd sketched Alex DeLarge. I had to outbid a couple of people, as a result I paid a little more then I generally would for something so small. It's incredible in real life however & I'm glad I paid the price.

An additional thought, Frank Kozik has created a glow in the dark A Clockwork Carrot exclusive for San Diego Comic Con. Limited to only 50 pieces. It's unlikely I'll ever own one of these(this information did NOT improve my mood today). One day, probably a decade from now, I might actually make it to SDCC & pick up a few exclusives for myself.

This awesome new toy will be available from the 3dRetro booth(booth 5051) during the week. They'll have quite a few SDCC exclusives available at their booth(including the epic Evel Fett: Boba edition from Retro Outlaw). Be sure to stop by & spend copious amounts of money if you're one of those lucky ones heading to SDCC this year.

Little Things or 'More Mail!'

Don't you love it, when you've been hunting for something for years & suddenly, there it is, in your price range! Well, that has been me, consistently for the last couple of weeks, hence my prior post & this one. Lots of mail today!
Chris Hopkins Qee's are brilliant. Highly sought after & in my experience, rarely appear on eBay. I found the Ultra Violence Qee(orange version) a few years ago, a completely random find at the time(& I won it for a surprisingly low price), but one which resulted in me becoming aware of the Violence Bear(white version). Finally, after years of searching, one appeared on eBay a couple of weeks ago. I had to outbid a couple of competitors, but now it's mine!

Now, this next item, is in no way official, but I simply couldn't resist. I went to the Supanova Pop Culture Expo last year & hope to go again this year. If I do, I'm considering cosplay. Being me, the obvious choice was Alex DeLarge.
I'm not quite sure how I found these two weeks ago(random eBay browsing most likely) but I'm so happy I did.
Kreepsville 666 do a lot of classic horror/gore styled items, blood-splattered eyeballs seem to be a common theme across their website. Within their new catalog, they released brooches.

I think they'll work perfectly as Alex DeLarge cufflinks. Heck of a lot cheaper then the custom made cufflinks I find now & then on eBay as well. Of course, I still need to buy white jeans & a white shirt & eyelashes. Apparently I felt the need to start with the little touches, but at least now I own blood splattered eyeball brooches.

Great price, great brand & they arrived incredibly quickly. I highly recommend having a bit of fun with your cosplay ideas, find something a little 'different' & embrace the 'weird'.

New Toy or 'I'm a lazy blogger'

My A Clockwork Carrot arrived a few days ago. I procrastinated with taking photos & then when I went to get the task done, my camera died, resulting in even more delay. These instances only exacerbate my laziness. Finally I'm here though, to share my new goodies with you all. There I was, up late(or early), as I often am, when my new Kozik toy arrived. Always nice when I don't have to do a trip up to the post office to collect my items. The packaging is pretty basic, but I'm a fan of bags for light-weight toys. Bag headers are always fun too, if I ever create a toy it's probably what I'd start with.

Bit of a sneak peak at my cabinet in this next picture(really don't want to share my collection on my blog until I get my stuff back from the QLD museum). My cabinet is a little disorganized at the moment, but for now I think my new toy fits nicely where he is. I love big toys, 9inches is a great size. Hoping to hunt down the black & white versions as well over time, as it would be nice to have a complete set. For now however, I'm quite happy about the new addition to my collection.

Shoework Orange or 'I finally found one!'

Woke up to find a package at my door today. I now officially own my very own Michael Lau Mr Shoe Shoework Orange sample. I've spent years hunting for one. During one of my many random google searches for ACO items recently, I stumbled across one on the kidrobot forums. For once, I was in luck & it was still available(I also messaged the seller two days before someone else enquired, my timing was perfect!).

Another piece of luck, the seller usually doesn't ship outside of Europe, but as I was quite willing to pay the extra shipping costs, Mr Shoe is now mine. It's insane how happy I am about this toy.

Everything about this toy just puts a smile on my face. The kind of 'raw' style, the highly amusing feet, the adorable mini shoebox & who doesn't love a toy with a hat?

I really love the detail on this piece, the little eyeball on the back is a lovely touch. Of the course the beautiful combination of orange, black & white is always appealing. This is of course, the one toy, that has made me realize how desperately I need to buy a bigger cabinet. In time, I hope to display his box beside or behind him, but for now I can only fit Mr Shoe on my shallow shelves.

This is my very first Michael Lau piece, there's a few others I'm seeking, but this little(or rather, 'big' as he stands about 6" with his hat on) guy I think will remain one of my favourite pieces for many years to come.

A Clockwork Carrot Release

Ok, so I've left this a little late. Toy Art Gallery are hosting the release of Frank Kozik's new A Clockwork Orange figure, tomorrow the 8th of June.

The release with be held at their Hollywood, California gallery space. 7-8pm

It's a beautiful design, preordered mine a couple of weeks ago(as I mentioned in an earlier post). Looking forward to adding it to my collection. Yet another epic piece from Frank Kozik.

This signing will also see the release of the ultra-limited A Clockwork Carrot “Pure Evil” edition, a exclusive between TAG and BlackBook Toy - only 10 pieces will be available from each store! Blackbook Toy will be selling this Pure Evil White after this event ends, June 12th from midnight.
