Krayola - Ultraviolence Print

About a year ago, I stumbled across a artist on Facebook that seemed to regularly turn to A Clockwork Orange for inspiration in his work(amongst other cult classics & pop culture), along with a hefty dose of Disney thrown in!
Krayola does amazing work, basically been stalking his facebook group since I found his work. When I saw the Ultraviolence print, I knew I had to have it! I honestly wish I could have afforded more(he's constantly creating something new), but for now I've satisfied my needs!

After a bit of a wait(shipping troubles), my print has finally arrived! True I might be biased in regards to A Clockwork Orange, but I think the mash-up with Disney characters is genius.

As per usual, my photos lack quality. I've failed to emphasise how awesome this print is! Crisp colours & line work, with an obvious understanding of Disney style. Overall a damn impressive parody piece!
He also threw in this pretty epic mini print! Loving the colours, wish I could have captured it better!

I'll definitely be back to buy more from Krayola in the future!

You can check out more of Krayolas work on their website or their Facebook group

'A Clock Orange' FilmFufu ABC Block Series - Tofufu

About 18months ago, I inquired with Tofufu about the potential for some droog art designs. Originally I just requested Alex DeLarge, eventually we settled on all four Droogs!
These took me longer to pay for then they should have(because i'm useless), but damn were they worth the wait! The 'work in progress' images taunted me as I made my payments:

A is for Alex DeLarge - G if for George - P is for Pete - D is for Dim
'A Clock Orange' FilmFufu ABC Block Series, printed on 10x10inch bamboo wood panels.

Honestly it's hard to really capture the overall effect of these, my photos really don't do them justice! I'm eager to get them on a wall to give them the space they deserve(& need)! Hopefully I'll be able to achieve some photography of a calibre more appropriate to this collection of adorable drooginess!

The orange background is a bit metallic & really hard to show off in a photo! My photos neglect to show of the colours & details as well. It's hard to emphasise the epic size of these in photos too. Now that I've render my photography meaningless; I guess you'll just have to buy some prints & find out for yourself how amazing these are ;P
I now have myself 20x20inches of shiny droogs on wood! These will be the only 'A Clock Orange' droogs printed on 10x10inch panels. They're going to be a unique & impressive addition to my walls!

The lovely folks at Tofufu threw in a bunch of extra goodies for me too(they helped keep down shipping costs for me too, by bringing the prints with them during a trip to Australia)! I love their mini prints, I think the designs are brilliant! 'Toy Happens', that's good stuff!

I couldn't be happier with how these turned out! A little bit of cute & a bit of the old ultraviolence!

Want to buy something? You can check out their store on their website & their store on etsy! You can find A is for Alex available already & I'm sure the other droogs will be available soon!

You can find Tofufu on facebook, instagram & Twitter.

Hogs of the Road print - Brent Cheshire

I've been following Brent Cheshires work for a few years now & for most of that time I've been coveting his 'Hogs of the Road' design. It's self-explanatory why I longed for this piece!

It's an amazing use of a iconic scene from A Clockwork Orange. Executed beautifully, the combinations of different shades of black/white/grey work to achieve something truly unique! This is the 2nd run of this print Brent Cheshire has done. A slightly smaller version at 18x24inches(I believe the original was 24x36inches), but still large enough that I have no idea where i'm going to hang this!
My photography really doesn't do this amazing piece justice(it's very difficult taking photos of solid black!). My copy is number 19 out of an edition of 100.

Brent Cheshire was also kind enough to send me an additional print for free & it's signed by Malcolm Mcdowell!! Seriously so grateful for this amazing piece as well! It's another design of his I'd seen over the years & loved.

These are not my first Cheshire prints, I have multiples of another he did back when he was collaborating with Retro Outlaw(one of these, I'll give away one day!). I may have more), but my memory fails me today! A sign that I need to hang more of my artwork I'd say!
I highly recommend Brent Cheshires work! His use of colour is stunning, his parodies/mash-ups of pop culture are genius! Honestly there's no reason NOT to buy yourself a Cheshire print! For only $30US his Hogs of the Road print is more then worth the price!

You can find Brent Cheshire on etsy

Clockwork x Hello Kitty - Cinnamonroll by PlasticGod

I recently became aware that PlasticGod(formerly PlasticFucker) had produced more Hello Kitty prints! Including a A Clockwork Orange version of Cinnamonroll! Cinnamonroll is probably one of Sanrios cutest creations & truly adorable in any outfit really. Of course in this case, I had own this new vision from PlasticGod!
I managed to catch his post-Christmas sale which was wonderful. I'd actually forgotten about the print until it arrived today. So it was a nice little surprise!

This can be bought here: Clockwork x Hello Kitty

This is the third PlasticGod print I own so far(two bought from the artist, one I hunted down on ebay). I really love the small, but chunky style of the prints. I'm super happy to have a third PlasticGod print in my collection!

I'm now running out of space for these prints in my cabinet. I'll be seeking out an appropriate frame for them, so they can finally go on my walls! They'll look adorable once I achieve it!

On the subject of hanging art, I've recently hung a few more pieces in my home!

It's nice to make a dent in my pile of unhung artwork... all the while adding to the pile too! The endless bane of the art collectors life!

Hopefully I'll have a few new items to share soon! I've got a couple of figures on pre-order & a friend is working on a special custom for me! So expect more updates soon! Sorry it's been such a slow start to the year!

Alex by jellykoe & A Little Bit of the Old Ultra Violence by Joey Spiotto

I was going to wait until I had this print hung, but as I keep forgetting to buy more wall hooks, I've decided to push forward!

While randomly browsing artists on Facebook recently, I stumbled across jellykoe. I had no idea they had a Alex DeLarge print when i first had a look at their work, but was ever so happy when I found it in their store! One of many wonderful prints available(there's a few others I'm very tempted by), I was lucky enough to have enough money to order one.
My postman attempted to destroy it(as they tend to do), but luckily, it survived the onslaught & happened to fit a spare frame I had kicking around.

A simple choice of quote & beautiful little details. A very effective piece of art. Beautiful line work & the white edge worked perfectly for framing!

While I'm on the subject of art, it appears I never shared my Joey Spiotto(aka Joebot) print! Titled 'A Little Bit of the Old Ultra Violence' this print was part of the 'Storytime: A Little Gallery Show' exhibit at Gallery 1988 last year. I managed to score on of the last prints before they sold out.

Really nothing better then parodies of things from my youth! I intend to hang the jellykoe print next to it & then I'll need to hunt down another 8x10 art piece to help balance out that wall(because one must find excuses to buy more art)!
Honestly I'm a little confused that I never shared the Joebot print(& there's still more art to come, if I ever get it framed!). One of these days I'll catch up!

Additional note while I'm typing. I have a new toy on it's way which I'm super excited to blog about! So keep a look out for more posts in the near future!

New Art - Chad Scheres, Nicolas Caesar & Wellbound Productions

Apparently I've fallen WAY behind in my art updates. I had no idea I'd been so slack. So time for a big blog, with plenty to share! These pieces have been acquired over the last 8months or so(See! said i was behind!). Can't tell you why I've failed so miserably sharing these... just slipped my mind I suppose.

Lets start with something weird & creepy. My Clockwork Scorpian by Nicolas Caeser. I tragically missed out on the original painting, but luckily Nicolas chose to make prints! He was also kind enough to toss in a few extras! The sushi Godzilla is brilliant!

Last year at Supanova I picked up another print from Wellbound Productions(blogged about them previously here). I also had a similar size print from Chad Scheres a.k.a Toyghoul(which i DID blog about here), one to match the original Droogbacca drawing. I finally got some frames recently... but they were ugly, so I painted them(about my limit of craftiness) & now I'm prepared to show you these!

Pretty happy with the overall aesthetics, now I just need to hang them! A nice combo of South Park & Star Wars parodies on my walls will be a wonderful addition!

On the subject of South Park, I wanted to shared some screen shots from the episode 'Titties and Dragons'. The middle episode of a three-parter, during which it's suggested George R. R. Martin has a penis obsession. At the end of 'Titties and Dragons', we're subjected to a parody of the Game of Thrones theme song, entirely about weiners. In the background we see something familiar.

Another brilliant reference to ACO in Matt Stone & Trey Parkers work!
I'm a huge fan of The Rocking Machine, brilliant piece of art. Nice to see it pop up in one of my favourite shows.

And can you believe it, this isn't even everything I'm back-logged on! More stuff to frame & hang & share. I'll get too it all eventually!

Clockwork Orange Kitty - Plasticgod & Ultraviolence Qee - Toy2R Version

As per usual I'm falling behind on my blogging again, so today I have two new items for you.

About a year ago(possibly longer, my perception of time isn't great), I stumbled across this blog entry: Sanrios 50th Anniversary Party Which was the moment I became aware of Plasticgod(or rather, became aware of his art, I knew he made toys).
Since reading that blog I regularly went hunting for his art & managed to find one of his MUCH older Alex Delarge prints on eBay about 6months ago(from back in his Plasticfucker days). I had pretty much lost all hope of finding the Clockwork Kitty, but thanks to habit, I was hunting again recently & learned that Plasticgod had made a pinterest! One specifically for his Hello Kitty work in fact. Turned out, he somehow still had prints to sell(they are limited to 35), so I contacted him, paid & now have a second print in my collection(& still a lack of photography skills to go with them)!

The next item is one I'd been seeking for at least three years. There are three sets of Ultraviolence Qees by Kozik & thanks to my friend JazzyDan(from Fugi.me I have my first set! The Toy2R set(or simply 'black set'). SO happy about these! I attempted to buy one of the other sets this year, but it arrived with sun damage & I had to return them, it's nice to finally succeed with a purchase of these... now I just have to hunt down the other two sets.

So yeah, new things & more coming. So glad to have finally hunted down some items that I had struggled to find.

Chad Scheres - Monster Art

So there I was a few months ago, browsing ebay(as I do) & I stumbled across a pretty awesome piece of Monster Art. A beautifully disturbing parody of Alex DeLarge. Essentially, I had stumbled across another fellow Kubrick fan!

So I sought out the artist, Chad Scheres, on Facebook(gotta keep up the networking!). During my process of acquiring money to buy his most awesome monster parody of Alex DeLarge, he was writing a book, How To Draw Monsters with Paul Ledney. So, I obviously needed to order a copy of that as well(I've been indulging in some drawing lately)!

He packed my order full of goodies, prints, stickers & his most awesome trading-card sized business cards! I'm so happy to own an original piece of Monster Art, it's ridiculous! Now I must acquire new frames, to hang some beautifully colourful freaks on my walls!

BIG Catch-Up!

Well, as you may have noticed, I've been a bit useless with my blogging lately. It's nothing new, I'm lazy. There's even a chance I pre-warned you all in previous entries about this bad habit of mine! I've decided it's finally time to catch-up & show you all my recent acquisitions, so bare with me!

First & foremost, the toy that took me longer to acquire then anything else EVER, the Crockman Hommage Statue.
I first stumbled across this epic piece of resin about 2.5years ago. In that time period, nothing went right. The original website that stocked them, didn't ship to Aus, so I found another site, but they had run out of stock. That's around the time I gave up on the idea, but then a friend suggested M-World Service. They found my toy within a matter of hours! Cost me a little extra, but it was worth every penny!
By far one of my all time favourite ACO acquisitions, though tragically I don't have the space to display it at the moment. Hopefully, I'll have a new cabinet soon to put him in.

Crockman Hommage Statue - Lucky Rudy

There are other versions of this, which I WOULD like to seek out one day, but for now the OG version makes me happy. Here are the others:

There I was, doing my daily eBay search for ACO items & I stumbled across a mobile phone cover. Pretty retro, absolutely obsolete these days, but as I had no intention of opening the packaging, it was destined to become part of my collection! Was also useful to know Lucastar had a eBay store! While I was at it, I ordered a 2nd ACO phone charm(I may potentially do a contest in the future & toss that in!). The phone cover is by a brand called Lex Lutor, who don't seem to exist anymore. Tragically I'm pretty sure I also ordered the last one Lucastar had in stock(so you're all out of luck!). Nice bit of randomness to add to my stuff though.
Mobile Accessories - Lucastar

As always, Frank Kozik has continued to produce items that I simply MUST have in my collection. I blogged about his mini busts a few months ago(Mini Orange Clear Resin Lugwig Van Busts), he then released another, the 'Milk Plus' version. Of course I needed it, so I got my money together & thankfully was able to acquire one.

Mini Ludwig Bust - Milk Plus - Frank Kozik

When I first started this blog(The Woes Of Collecting or 'Why I Created This Blog' ), I was driven to do so because I had learned about some recent releases, which I had missed the opportunity to buy. Specifically, a toy called 'Nadsat Boy' by Kenth. I'm still seeking that piece of vinyl awesomeness, however Kenth recently released another ACO inspired toy. This time, in resin.
There was a lottery for this toy, I feel incredibly lucky to have won the opportunity to purchase one. It's tiny & delicate & articulated(even it's head swivels!)!

Kenth Toys(Komori Kentaro) - Basic Wars - Nadsat Boy

Ok, so that's basically all the new toys & stuff. Now, the artwork.... or at least the artwork I recently hung(i'm a bit slack with hanging art).

Stuff I've recently hung(some new acquisitions, some old):

James Flames - You Are Invited

James Flames does epic work & I'm so glad to finally have this poster up(it had been sitting in a tube for over a year). The photo looks a little weird, as it's hanging on an angled wall(nice use of space I thought!). Took two tries to get it to stay up, but I got there in the end!

Dolicia

Picked this up on etsy(again, at least a year ago). It's an original by a woman called 'Dolicia'. Tragically, I can't find any additional info about her & her etsy store seems to be gone now. The moment I saw this painting I wanted it & Dolicia was kind enough to hold it for me. I'm incredibly happy to finally have it on my walls(the other painting is a gilcee print from R.S.Connett for anyone wondering).

Wellbound Productions- Tim Allen - Clockwork Ted
I recently went to the Brisbane Alternative Expo(b'day outing with my Dad) & the very first thing I found, was a ACO item. The guys from Wellbound Productions do awesome work, but of course, I went with Clockwork Ted. A beautifully messy, yet effective piece of art. I got to have a chat with the guys & Tim Allen signed the print for me. I'm very much looking forward to the next Expo(and hopefully one or two conventions this year too!). A great little b'day bonus for myself & thankfully, I happened to have a frame kicking around that fit it.

For now, that's it on the art front. I have a few other pieces kicking around in tubes(even have a new piece on it's way), but I'm all out of frames/mylar sleeves/ or any other 'hanging' solutions that will fit my remaining pieces. I'm working on the problem.

To finish up, here's some updated shots of my cabinet. There's a handful of things missing, as I currently can't fit them in(nice to have my stuff back from the museum, but problematic thanks to buying so much new stuff last year). I'm pretty happy with how much I've managed to squeeze in there though!

There's a couple of other things I thought about sharing, but I have counterparts for them arriving soon, so I shall share the rest in future blog entries. For now, be jealous of all my new epicness!
